Girls being rad… FEAST clinic this past weekend at Martock
Not only was there Snowed In and Flaunt It this past weekend, but there was also the 3rd stop of FEAST at Martock. The number of girls that were involved was awesome! Atleast 30 girls were involved on staurday, at all different levels of riding. Some ladies were entering the park for the first time and others needed coaching to make that rotation on that jump a little more stylish. The girls were pumped on all the encouragement and coaching they received from Natasha, Sarah and Dallas. There are only a few stops left, so if you can make it happen do it.
The next stop is this weekend at Brookvale PEI with a clinic on Saturday the 6th and a contet on Sunday the 7th. The final clinic is in Cape Breton at Ben Eoin on Feburary 20th. To enter/or find out more info check the Adrenaline Diva’s website @ www.adrenalinedivas.com
Here are a few photos I managed to take before my fingers froze off… enjoy!

Martock was all about the ladies this past weekend… Snowed In and Feast on Saturday and Flaunt It on Sunday. The day started off REALLY cold… with girls showing up bright eyed and bushy tailed. The sun was shining and the girls were ready to ride. Billabong’s “Flaunt It” is a unique competition, being a slope-style and rail jam FOR LADIES ONLY, that brought talent from other provinces which was awesome because it pushed our local ladies even harder. Twenty ladies competed (the youngest being only nine years old!!) but only a few could walk away with some AMAZING prizes! All the girls who competed did really well, pushing, encouraging and interacting with each other… All who were involved had a great time with great things to say about each other. The day started with the slope style comp going first… ladies throwing down, with the quality of riding surpassing that of last years very quickly. Afterwards there was a quick lunch-break/cool down, with a bbq and tons of hot chocolate from the NIXON tent. After some nourishment, the ladies got back to it, pushing it in the rail jam and trying to throw down the best trick somewhere along the line. A few nasty falls, bruised knees and a broken board later…. the prizes were awarded!
The Winners for the Slope style part of the comp were;
1st DALLAS ROURKE (she won $700 bucks, a Nixon 42 20 Gold engraved watch, air-fare to the finals and tons of swag from Dakine and Billabong) 2nd Marie- Helene Tremblay 3rd Stephanie Meagher 4thLaura Bloomberg
The Rail Jam Winners were;
1st Laura Bloomberg 2nd Stephanie Meagher 3rd Marie-Helene Tremblay
Best trick went to Laura Bloomberg
Rider who progressed the most went to Lydia MacLean
And a prize went to Isabelle Allen for being the youngest girl to ride in the comp! Watch out ladies, she’ll be ripping past you in a few years…
The NIXON tent was busy all day, with people wanting to demo the NEW headphone styles and to receive some hot chocolate in the nose and moustache cups. The headphone demo had the Whip and the Trooper, two great styles for snowboarding in that are really affordable. People were stoked on the new product and got to grab a few stickers too.
The over all feed-back was awesome; everyone was so excited on the format and laid back feeling of the comp. This event gets better and better every year, and the ladies look forward to it for the next year right after it’s done.
Congrats to all who won and participated in Flaunt It! And hopefully the ladies from Quebec and Ontario will bring more ladies with them next year; you guys were all so lovely!
If anyone has some photos or videos of Flaunt It that you want posted, send them to info-progirl@hotmail.com attn Sarah.
Thanks again to all the volunteers, participants, Martock and Catherine, Nathan and Chrissy from Billabong and Mark from Nixon and VZ, it wouldn’t have been possible without you all!

Hot chocolate, snowboarding and girls… that’s what Snowed In is made of!
“Snowed In” presented by ProGirl and Billabong was held this past Saturday at Martock. This day was dedicated to the ladies, and it was a great success. This was the second year for this event and it was bigger and better even with the brutal cold weather that decided to fall upon us! We had more businesses and brands show-casing/talking about what they have to offer for women. All of our participants had booths set up with fun activities/games that were engaging, educational and fun;
Burton had a women’s only snowboard demo running that day, Billabong had some fun carnival games giving participants some great swag, The Maritime Heart Center had educational quizzes and give outs, Von Zipper had a foosball table and next years goggles on display and Salomon was show-casing skis and boots. The ladies from One Life Surf were there showing off their talents on the indo-board, the Adrenaline Divas and NSSA were pushing the ladies to get better as they do best with Natasha and her ladies doing FEAST (an all girls snowboard clinic), and ADSUM House was there spinning the wheel for prizes and raffling off tickets for two great goodie filled baskets! We were there with pin the goggles on Andy and representing our ALL girls Skate and Snowboard shop and giving out some great hot chocolate from Just Us coffee, with Z103 providing the beats and great dancing inducing tunes!
I was running around trying to get shots of everyone and everything, so look below to see if you can spot yourself!
The day was a huge success, and it wouldn’t have been possible without all the participants and helpers. A HUGE thank you to everyone who attended, you made a great day possible… and hopefully no one got frost-bite! Martock gets a BIG thank you also, especially to Andy, this wouldn’t have been possible without the hill providing the space!
Thanks again,
xo ProGirl

Say what? Yeah, I know… she’s under 16.
Here’s a sneak peak at the Martock ProGirls for 2010! Melanie and I went up on saturday morning to say hello, give them goodie bags and take a look at the newbies. If you’ve never seen any of these little ladies ride, make it happen this year. Most, if not all, will be competing in “Flaunt it” Billabong’s ALL ladies slopestyle and rail jam happening on January 31st. These ladies (ranging from age 10 to 15) kill it in the park, and have so much fun while doing it. So next time you’re at Martock, you’ll probably see one of these hooligans flying around, say hi and challenge them to a showdown.
We’ll be tracking the Martock and the Wentworth ladies this season, so stay tuned!

Snowed In! Where? Martock!
Hello everyone!
On January 30, 2010 ProGirl and Billabong are teaming up to host “Snowed In” our 2nd Annual ladies day. The event will take place at our local ski hill, Martock, in Windsor, Nova Scotia. At the bottom of the hill there will be a village of tents filled with businesses that pertain to women’s personal health and well being. Although ProGirl is snowboard oriented, we want to target women of all ages and sports. This day is not only about bringing women together who share a common interest, but also helping them to recognize their beauty and importance. If you attended Snowed In last year, the layout will be similar but much bigger in size and participants. There will be games, interactive tents and lots more happening all morning ending around 3pm. So come, Bring your families and join us for a day filled with fun, learning and lots of goodies!
And don’t forget about Billabong’s “Flaunt it” the all girls slope style and rail jam happening the next day!
See you on the slopes!
