So summer is slowly peeking it’s head out (with one nice day amidst many not-so-nice days) but we’re holding out. It’s ALMOST here ladies!

Looking around the store all I see is colour, bold prints and fun mix and match pieces. Element Eden’s Spring and Summer 2010 pieces are a great example. They’re got gorgeous skirts, boyfriend shorts (that actually fit girls!), great tops, tanks that go with everything and dresses galore!

Element Eden is moving forward, pushing everyone else aside. They’re is very aware of the impact the fashion industry is putting on the planet and is doing their part to help. “Conscious by Nature” offers fashionable pieces made from organic and sustainable materials. They’re pushing young women forward with the Element Advocates. These ladies are involved with visual arts, music and the communities they reside in. To quote the Element website they’re “A dream team of visionary women whose stories exude creativity, passion, and social awareness. From artists, to musicians, humanitarians, and social activists, each woman was hand-selected to be a part of our Element Eden family.” You can follow their activity through the Element website. Soooo yesterday was a busy day of receiving and processing. Let me tell you ladies, there are some goodies! We received RVCA, Billabong’s “Designers Closet” and Nixon watches.

Bright and bold is what comes to mind when I look at the new pieces.

RVCA is sexy and bold; with bright reds, sheer blacks, and tailored casual.

Billabong is bright and fun; with crazy prints, ripped tanks and dresses and simple shorts.

Nixon is pushing perfection! They’ve released a few NEW watches to the women’s line and added fun bright colours to some existing goodies. Tortoise is taking over with black bands and sophisticated faces and Black and Bone which is gorgeous (vintage looking but still very fun!).

Alien Workshop presents…

Lines in the Maritimes.
This is a skateboard video contest.
Best line wins a Alien Workshop gift pack, including Board, Wheels, Clothing etc.
You have until June 21st, International Go Skateboarding Day to post the links to your best line on the FistFullaFives facebook group (post them on Vimeo, Youtube, whatever).
Contest Timeline: May 21st – June 21st.
This contest is open to any skateboarder, sponsored, non sponsored, am, shop kid, shop owner but you must currently live in the Maritimes or Newfoundland.
We hope to promote the east and all its sick skate talent so spread the word and invite your friends, crews and any other skate rats to get out there and film.

 Last night we held the MM Benefit Auction andthe Pro Skates deck release of the summer at Uptown on Quinpool Rd. We just want to say a huge thank-you to everyone who came out to show their support and placed bids towards MM. The evening started off with Lobster, sausages and veggie dogs on the BBQ, potato salad, veggies, lobster rolls and more goodies lining the tables outside. The fooseball table and tunes were playing, and the inside tables were lined with wicked items up for auction! The turn out was great and we were so happy to see all your faces. Everyone seemed to have a great time; between 6pm-9pm there was lots of talking, beer drinking  and bid placing.

There was lots of items from so many of our generous reps; WeSC jeans, headphones and shirts, a Burton mens jacket, an Element Plaid jacket, Sitka mens and womens packages, Billabong goodies, a Home Grown Deck, a complete longboard and even a DC deck that was signed BY THE WHOLE TEAM! The bidding tables were over flowing with kindness and support from all over Canada.

The New Pro Skates deck of the summer “The Cape Islander” was a also in the spotlight. Our very own Greg Boudreau same up with that one ladies and gents. He stayed with the nautical theme from the last deck “The Salty Seamen” and it looks great. If you couldn’t get yours last night, don’t sweat… there are plenty to go around in lots of sizes! Get yours from Uptown or Downtown, whichever suits your fancy for only $49 bucks including grip!

So for anyone who missed out, here are some photos so you can feel like you were there.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Fresh off the truck is our NEWEST sunglasses line- ELECTRIC. Bright colours and cool shapes is what this brand has to offer… they make the weird shaped faces still look awesome (mine included).

Hey Ladies,

Here it is time for ladies skate night. Were going to get this rolling Monday night (10th), at 6ish. The shop closes down at 6 so we will be making our way to The Commons Skate Park. All ladies are welcome, any levels are welcome, remember this is a great way to meet other ladies that skate!

We STRONGLY suggest a helmet not only to protect your noggen but so you don’t receive a nasty ticket from the men in blue…
