Yes, I know it’s gotten cold again, but spring will be back, don’t fret. Later this week is looking great after we get this rain out of the way. We need that last bit of salt rinsed off the streets and sidewalks anyway.
So, we’ve got lots of new stuff in at Uptown. By the way we’re open every day now, noon to 5-ish. Or so. Checkout the new goods.
TONS of new longboards and cruisers. Look at the size of that one on the right!

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a post on items we have in store, to which I say; I’m sorry, it’s been a busy winter… But I’m back!! I was looking through my April addition on NYLON magazine (with amazing cover girl Zoe Saldana), and noticed the Nixon and VonZipper hits! “It Girl of the Moment” Ashley Tisdale is wearing the Nixon Gem Pendant in ALL black. The Gem pendant comes in 4 different colours; All black, Gunmetal/white, Gunmetal/gold and Antique gold/red and it retails for $119-$129. The VonZipper Manchu sunglasses are also shown… these sunglasses are a cool spin on classic aviators, with metal and plastic. They’re a pretty big frame so they’re great for girls and guys. The sun is making an appearance early this year and the sunglasses bug has bitten a few of you already… so good news for the people who haven’t made the plunge yet. We have NEW VonZipper’s coming in next week!

Sorry this has taken so long! It has been a busy week. Volcom Stone’s Peanut Butter & Rail Jam crew was here for a beautiful weekend of Peggy’s Cove, ridiculous sandwiches made with cookies, and of course, snowboarding! 

 

I wasn’t able to make it, but I got to hear all about who won, the wicked bails and all about the newcomers this year. Volcom’s blog has lots of photos and a great write up of the main events that went on.

Awwwwww shit!!! Quick Strikes all up in yo grill!!!

Above you see the new Dunk inspired by the famous SF spot called Wallenberg (seen above)…you know the one Chris Cole switch FS flipped? The green signifies the palm tree that grows on the bottom ledge, The white signifies the ledge itself, and the grey trim represents the waxy gnar that has accumulated over the last 3 decades. The Wallenburg gap will soon be gone, but these hot Nikes will last for as long as you want them to. Hopefully you’ll skate them though.

Now we have the new SB Larry Perkins…Larry Perkins was a fictional character made up by Big Brother(the best skate mag of all times) back in the day to play a few tricks on pro skaters and skateboard companies. You probably don’t remember…it dosn’t matter…cop these joints or die.

This one is for all the trekkies and sci-fi lovers out there courtesy of Volcom Stone. Instead of a look book for the Spring collection, Volcom created quite a video called “5 Speed Fever”. The short video is about Gemini Laseure (a motorcycle riding, blonde alien beauty) who wreaks havoc on earth with her laser while being chased by a geeky FBI agent. A very cute way to show the new line. 
Take a good look at the clothing and bikinis because we’ve got most of it in-store now! All bikinis are NOW out. I’ll do a blog posting soon with all the styles/colours/brands. Slowly but surely, summer is on its way ladies!
