20 Years ago…..
The recent SKULL tour brought back the memories for some older HFX skaters, as it was 20 years ago that the city saw its first big professional skate demo when Fishlips flew down with Santa Cruz pro Jeff Hedges in tow.

ahh what memories.bloomfield days were great.driving into town with the Pigfeeder posse was always a laugh.pure skateboarding!
twenty years ago eh? IB, rags and wheels, devonshire, pro was upstairs, saint andrews. around that time the city gave us the egg pond (in its granualer glory) to skate in. sandy brooks was doing large frontside wall rides. sonny woodworth had the best minihalf going. le nez (arron) was a force on the streets, him and jason v. were doing boardslides on rails before thrasher mag showed pics of gonzales and kaupas doing rails. mark sampson was this little kid who had freestyle skills. there was these crazy fellers with english accents that were fun to skate with. mike matheson was the protector of the timid and weak. oh the memories.
